ESN UofG is delighted to have been presented with the Society Showcase Award at the Volunteering, Clubs and Societies Awards Ceremony. Of three societies shortlisted, Erasmus Student Network UofG was considered by the judges to be the biggest contributor to student life at the University of Glasgow, promoting internationalisation and student mobility, and supporting incoming students from abroad with inclusive and fun events and campaigns. Throughout the year, we have encouraged local students to go abroad with our #GoAbroad social media campaign and information and integration sessions, while also introducing international students to Scottish culture with an award-winning ceilidh, an evening of whisky-tasting and a sold-out Burns Supper with live Scots poetry performances. On top of that we’ve also run a three-day national conference on student mobility right here at the University, and given evidence to a House of Commons Select Committee on mobility in higher education.
ESN UofG would like to thank everyone who supported our activities this year, including Ms. Seonaid Dodds from the Study Abroad and Exchanges Office, Professor Jim Murdoch, Dean for International Mobility, Mhairi Harris and Rose Marshall of the SRC, and many others.
