President - Chris Panetsoudis

 

Chris is a 3rd year Microbiology student at the University of Glasgow and has been a volunteer in ESN since September 2017. As President, he is actively involved in International, National and most importantly local ESN matters. He loves traveling and that entails participating in ESN (Inter)National Events such as AGM and NP!

 

 

 

Vice President - Nikki Odenhoven

 

Nikki is a third year Biochemistry student. She is from the Netherlands but also grew up in Asia and London. This summer she has spent volunteering in Brazil for 7 weeks and backpacking through Georgia! She loves travelling, festivals and coffee.

 

 

 

Treasurer - Alasdair Bennett

Secretary - Katarina Simkova

 

Katka is a 3rd year Physics with Astrophysics student originally from Slovakia. This summer she spent mainly working at and discovering beautiful German island Ruegen and after returning to her homeland visiting one of the most remote corners of it as she loves traveling, sports (such as hiking, ice hockey and cycling) and hanging out with friends. She joined ESN as she believes that it does an amazing job in welcoming the exchange students, promoting mobility and stands for important values such as not only the European but also international unity and multicultural understanding and she would love to be part and to help with all of this.

 

Projects Coordinators - Ross Mowbray / Alicia Edgar

 

Ross is a final year Earth Science student from Scotland. He has always enjoyed travelling and discovering new places, having worked during his university career in Spain and Uganda. Ross was on Erasmus+ exchange in Italy this summer and wanted to continue his Erasmus adventure back in Glasgow, by helping new exchange students discover his city and by promoting ESN, allowing others to discover its full potential.

 

 

 

 

Alicia is a second year student of Economics, Spanish and Mandarin and is looking forward to spending her year abroad in Catalonia. She loves learning languages and travelling so she can put them into practice. In 2018 she had the fortune to visit four new countries: Cuba, China, Switzerland and Belgium. She had never heard of ESN until last year and thought it was a great idea for international students. She is interested in the community and social side of ESN and wants to expand ESN UofG's activity in this area.

 

 

 

 

Events Manager - Kacper Prech

 

Kacper is a 3rd year Theoretical Physics student from Poland. This summer he spent two months working in Russia, where he could discover the beauty of Siberia. He really likes travelling and cycling. To enjoy both of these activities he goes bike touring with friends during holidays. He visited 13 different countries this way. Helping the exchange students in Glasgow to socialize and to immerse into the new culture was his motivation to join the ESN. You will have a chance to meet Kacper during all of our events. He is excited about making them as fun and enjoyable for everyone as possible.

 
Events Team - Jude McKechnie / Catriona Mather
 

 

Jude is a 4th year History and Philosophy student, Glasgow born and bred! She just returned from her year abroad in sunny Sydney and a summer bag packing through South East Asia. She loves European cinema, karaoke and is a big foodie- working her way through all the Glasgow brunch spots as you read. She wanted to get involved ESN because she loves this city and is keen to help showcase all its fun, wacky and wonderful with all those new to town and keen to get stuck in!

 

 

 

 

Tina is a 4th year law student and recently returned from a year abroad in Copenhagen. She loves exploring new cities and meeting new people. After being introduced to ESN in Copenhagen and attending many of their events and going on an ESN trip to Lapland, she has joined the events committee to give visiting students to Glasgow the same great welcome that she received.

 

 

 

 

Buddy System Coordinator - Rosanne de Jong

 

Rosanne is a fourth year Veterinary Biosciences student. She is Dutch but spent a big part of her life living abroad. She loves animals, traveling and meeting new people. After living with Erasmus students in her first year, she decided to join ESN to help make incoming exchange students feel at home in Glasgow.

 

 

 

Communication Manager - Louise Goode

 

Louise spent her 3rd year studying in Salamanca in Spain as a part of her Spanish and Business Management degree. She loves travelling and spent a lot of her time getting involved with events and trips that ESN ran over the year. She wanted to join the committee to help students visiting Glasgow have just as good an experience!

 

 

 

Graphics Manager - Natasha Robinson

 

Natasha is half French, half Scottish and is in her 2nd year, studying Geography and Languages. Before coming to uni, she taught English in a small village in the Chilean mountains for a year and cannot wait to go back and visit her host family, students and friends next year. This summer she Couchsurfed around Spain before working in France for 3 months, exploring the region on her bike whenever she had time. ESN has allowed her to be creative while meeting many other likeminded people from all over the world. She hopes to help exchange students make the most of their time in Scotland!

 

 

 

Web Projects Administrator - Ivelina Doynova

Ivelina is a 3rd year Computing Science student. She attended WEP, an annual international meeting of delegates of ESN Western Europe in Fribourg, Switzerland, and travelled around Spain for two months. Ivelina loves travelling, meeting people and making new friends. She joined ESN because she wanted to help exchange students feel at home in rainy Glasgow, have fun and enjoy their time.
