GoAbroad fair took place on Wednesday, 11.10.2017 at 12:00 - 15:30 at GUU. Organized by the University of Glasgow, the fair itself is an informative event focused on studying abroad whereas doing Erasmus or international exchange. It should be the one of first steps for every home student studying at the University of Glasgow considering spending next academic year abroad.
As ESN UofG is not here solely to organize events, but also to promote the mobility opportunities following ESN International's project Mov’in Europe, we could not miss the chance to have a stall in there. We were more than happy to be able to have a chat with anyone who stopped off at our stall and share our experience and advice about going abroad.
Later that day in the evening between 18:30 and 20:30, we also organized an event subsequent to the fair - GoAbroad Meet-Up with ESN (with free snacks!). We invited a few former international exchange and Erasmus students to come and share their experience with home student who were of course very welcome to this event as it was organized for them. Over these two hours every full-time student of the University of Glasgow who headed to the Hillhead Bookclub had a nice chance to chat with all those helpful exchange students and to be persuaded that the exchange is one of the best and most useful things you can do while studying.
If you have missed those events though and would love to go abroad the next academic year, do not panic of course, there are many other options how to find out about the exchange opportunities at our university as our university’s GoAbroad website, follow-up sessions in your school or subject area, individual meetings with your Subject Mobility Coordinators and getting in touch with GoAbroad team, Student Ambassadors and ESN UofG. Keep in mind that the deadline for all the applications is 4th December 2017, you can check how the whole timeline of the application process should look like in here.
